COMFORT GIFT OVERVIEW AND GUIDELINES:

Comfort Gifts and Assistance will be awarded to individuals and families for the purpose of improving the life of a chronically or terminally ill person. Examples of previous awards include air conditioners, wheelchairs, rollator walkers, shower chairs, recliners, televisions, ipods, air purifiers, stereos, washing machines and dishwashers. An award of a gift or assistance is at the sole discretion of the board of directors of the Small Comforts Foundation. Comfort Gifts may not exceed a monetary value of $250. Other forms of assistance are considered on an individual basis and do not have a set limit.

Requests for cash will not be considered. Comfort gifts are awarded to individuals or families. Organizations, companies, and corporations are not eligible for comfort gifts.

Application must be accompanied by the signed Physician's Verification Letter stipulating 1) that the person is a patient and 2) that the receipt of requested gift would improve the patient's morale or quality of life.
